Junior Team Tennis
Who is it for?:
LSRC Junior Team Tennis is for players that enjoy and need experience with match play. Teams are made up of boys and girls. Two ability level divisions are offered in Green and Yellow ball matches.
Match Dates & Times:
Matches run for 2 hrs on Saturday and are between 12-4:30pm.
JTT matches run from November to March. (Note – you may or may not have matches on every date listed and need not be available for every match. Team managers will organize players according to match dates. Most teams require more than the minimum of 2 boys and 2 girls to get through the season).
Format: (Format is subject to change)
Each match consists of singles followed by doubles; followed by mixed doubles. Matches will also be timed. A minimum of 2 girls and 2 boys are needed to play each match. You may bring as many players as desired from your registered team roster and share positions. A parent manages each team to be sure enough players are at each match. Please add enough players to get through the season.
Enter as an entire team:
Recruit your friends and /or ask players from your tennis classes that are the same level of play and age group. Use the entry form and submit the information by the deadline. Players pay when the play at the club. All players will register on the USTA web site before playing their first match.
All teams require a parent manager or coach at all matches.
OR …. Players can enter individually
Players who do not have a team may check at their local tennis facility or with their tennis instructor for help finding a team or they can contact the league coordinator, Andre Danford, who will be networking to find teams needing players.
Cost:
Club and USTA membership is NOT a requirement!
All players must be registered before playing their first match. All match fees include balls and each match is $23.
