Club Automation is Coming!

Effective on January 3, 2018, we will be migrating to an entirely new state-of-the-art club and business management software platform called CLUB AUTOMATION. Our existing software system is obsolete and no longer supported by the software supplier.

The CLUB AUTOMATION system is web-based, so we will have some greatly expanded capabilities for our staff to serve you, and for our members to interface with Lyme Shores Tennis & Conditioning going forward. This will include online access to court schedules and fitness programs, and eventually, online booking. We have been working behind the scenes for the past two months to build and populate our database. Hopefully the transition will go smoothly on January 3rd, but we’re sure there will be some bugs to work out and we will appreciate your patience as we get up and running smoothly. The system will also require a change in our monthly billing procedures which we will cover in more detail as we get closer to conversion.

If you are interested, feel free to visit the CLUB AUTOMATION website at The dedicated Lyme Shores portal will be available soon for you to see and to modify your membership profile information. Non-members will also be added to the database at a later time.

We will update you further as we get closer to the actual conversion date.

Our very own Andre Danford was featured in the The Day’s article, “Tennis Pro by Day and a Rock Star by Night“.

“His world is tennis and tunes, two concepts that appear mutually exclusive until you meet the effortlessly cool Andre Danford, a New London original: awash by day in volleys and forehands, by night making different rackets of melody and harmony.

“It’s always a good time to be Andre, whom his friend and band partner Eddie Aledia calls “the mayor … because he knows everybody.”

“Danford was named general manager of tennis operations and facilities at Lyme Shores Fitness and Conditioning Center in East Lyme earlier this week, rising from part-time instructor to The Man.”

65 and over 7.0 Team Return from Nationals

The Lyme Shores 65 and over 7.0 team competed at Nationals in Surprise, Arizona over the weekend. With a solid performance in all three of their matches within their flight, they were one match away from advancing to the semi-finals. Unfortunately, they lost 2-1 to Pacific Northwest, the team that went on to be the tournament runner-up.

“Everyone truly enjoyed themselves, and even if we didn’t make it to the semis or the finals, it was the achievement of getting there that we were proud of,” said Team Captain Ebet Cushman.

3rd Annual Mixed Madness Tournament Starts January 1!

The 3rd Annual Mixed Madness Tournament will start January 1, 2016. This fun mixed doubles flex tournament is open to both members and non-members. There are A and B divisions.

Jared will make up the draw by January 1, and then teams will schedule their own matches any time during the week for the first round through to the semi-finals. You’ll have a couple weeks to get each round in. Then everyone is invited back on February 27 at 7pm for the tournament finals, a free round robin, and the party.

Here are a few guidelines:

  • Please pay the tournament fee at the front desk prior to playing your first match. It’s $20/members and $30/nonmembers.
  • No other court fees apply.
  • Reserve the court for two hours.
  • Both teams bring a new can of balls to the match. Winner takes new can.
  • Play a 10-point tiebreaker in lieu of a third set if you split sets.
  • Report scores to the front desk.
  • Phone numbers and email addresses are available at the front desk. Winners of each round should contact their opponents to schedule their next match by the deadlines. (See draw for appropriate dates.)
  • Saturday, February 27, 7pm: A & B Finals, Free Round Robin, and Pizza!
  • Have fun!

Sign up at the front desk or call the club at 860-739-6281.
